What if I told you that there's an intimate music and arts festival that you have to apply to by writing an essay? What if I told you that this festival takes place at a magical urban laboratory in the Arizona desert called Arcosanti? There's been a handful of projects in my career where I've asked myself, how did I get this lucky?! This one right here is one of them.
I'm a sucker for contrasty black and white so I had to edit some of these like this!
Oh my! So my good friend Jesus got randomly offered very last minute to host a Lucha Libre - Striptease - Comedy Show hybrid called Vavavoom here in Los Angeles. He messaged me something like "Do you want to come with and take photos at this event? Sure you could get some crazy stuff." This kind of show was a first for me and it was nuts and sold out and I felt like I had stepped into an alternative reality. I had so much fun because I was shooting for myself and had no shot list or guidelines of any sort. I didn't want to get too close to the ring because there were a lot of photographers who were actually working and I didn't want to get in their way (The chaos was real!). That sort of worked out in a way because I feel that I was close enough to capture the energy but far enough to give the images a bit of a voyeur vibe. By the way, my friend Jesus killed it at hosting! I feel like we'll both be back!
The kinda girl I really respect. The kinda press shots I love to do. The kinda client that becomes your friend. The kinda shoot I really enjoy: Just the two of us, wondering around, chatting and playing it by ear. Love you Anna!
Zedd and Alessia Cara have a new single out called "Stay" and I got to photograph their lifestyle campaign for the song's merchandise! We went to Manhattan Beach to shoot and nothing could have prepared us for how windy and cold it was that day. It was probably one of my most challenging shots that I've done lately... hair flying all over the place, clothes flying all over the place, super cold and unhappy models... But hey, we pulled it off and everyone is happy now!

I shot this fundraiser concert for ACLU ( American Civil Liberties Union) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night. It felt good to be part of an event where people are raising their voice against the current government in the US. As an immigrant, a minority and a woman, I feel very strongly about this cause.
The line up was super stacked: Zedd, Skrillex, Incubus, Miguel, Mija, Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Machine Gun Kelly, Macklemore & Tinashe.
This was such a trip to shoot because all the artists played small sets (15-20min), and they just kept coming on stage one after another very quickly. Also, this venue is pretty big so running around to get different angles is always a challenge.
Ok, here's some of the shots! Bye for now! :)
Oh my. This was a super intimate preview concert for the upcoming festival FORM and it was totally magical! It was very hard to shoot because you could hear a pin drop and people were sitting down and very focused, so it was hard for me to move and shoot without interrupting the show.
Every performance was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Every time James started singing I died a little bit inside. Me and everyone else!
Can't wait to get to shoot the actual festival in May. If you're a music lover, you should check it out here: http://experienceform.com/
I discovered this girl last week in Austin during SXSW and they had me 100% floored!!! I can't believe I hadn't heard about them yet... No wonder Beyonce signed them to her label... Can't wait to see what super cool shit these two do with their career! Instant supporter! <3
My oh my! This past weekend my friend invited me to see his Cajun band. We took a little 2.5 hour road trip from New Orleans to Lafayette and we made it to the show at this place called Blue Moon Saloon. I had no idea what to expect and I didn't want to ask too many questions because I wanted all to be a surprise. Best move ever because I was totally blown away. Wow. This was one of the funnest shows I've ever been to. People were there just to dance. The vibes were impeccable! Guys kept asking me to dance and I didn't know what to do or say haha. I finally gave in and danced a little bit! This was such a unique experience for me and a night I will never forget!
I met this awesome dude a few years ago at Ultra Music Festival. He was dancing with Justin Bieber and I was taking photos with Jack U (Skrillex and Diplo). I just reconnected with him and we did one of the best shoots I've done in a while! We chatted and shot and had the most fun. He told me he was Prince's last choreographer... whaaaat?! So much respect. We're already planning a new shoot so I'm sure I'll be sharing tons of photos of Antoine!

Never seen a record store so lit! :)
Oh my. Jake, aka Kill The Noise is one of the biggest characters I've ever met. He's really intense, he curses a lot, and somehow he's a fucking sweet heart. His set was so much fun and as always, beyond energetic and full of attitude. The kids love it! Had a great time working with this dude! <3
One of my first LA gigs was to work with my friend Anna Lunoe who's been absolutely KILLING IT lately! It's so rewarding to get to work with people you know and see them achieve great things! Check out Anna's awesome Beats 1 radio show called HYPERHOUSE HERE.
A special collaboration with 2 friends! My fierce, super cool friend Dawn as my model, and the very fun and creative Sh33n on the styling. I usually love shooting in a very candid way without preparing too much, but having someone putting together outfits and coming up with looks makes such a huge difference. So happy with how these shots turned out! :)
